The Federal Authorities has stepped in to deal with the current deportation orders issued in opposition to some Nigerian college students at Teesside College in the UK.

A delegation led by a consultant of the Nigerian Embassy within the UK, Ambassador Christian Okeke, together with leaders of the Nigerian College students Union within the UK, will meet with the college’s administration to hunt a decision.

This choice follows a digital assembly chaired by the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Fee, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, and attended by Okeke, the President of the Nigerian College students Union UK, Yemi Soile, and a number of other affected college students.

The assembly was held on Sunday.

The NiDCOM spokesperson, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, confirmed the deliberate intervention in an announcement on Wednesday.

In accordance with Balogun, throughout the assembly, the scholars described their experiences and expressed hope for a beneficial consequence.

Dabiri-Erewa urged the scholars “to stay calm and to not take the regulation into their very own arms.”

She appealed to Teesside College to deal with the scholars pretty and justly.

The problem gained consideration after some Nigerian college students at Teesside College staged a protest on Could 22, 2024.

The protest was in response to directives from the college authorities for the scholars to depart the UK, citing non-payment of faculty charges by some college students.
