Sudan: UAE Objects to UNSC Over ‘Spurious’ Accusations By Sudan

New York — The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has objected to what it calls “baseless allegations” made by the Everlasting Consultant for Sudan, El Haris Idris, to the 9,611th assembly of the UN Safety Council (UNSC) on April 19, through which he accused Abu Dhabi of supporting the Fast Assist Forces (RSF) and supplying them with weapons.

A letter by UAE Everlasting Consultant Mohamed Abushahab, addressed to the UNSC on Sunday, “unequivocally rejects the baseless allegations made by the Everlasting Consultant for Sudan, which run counter to the longstanding brotherly relations between our two international locations.”

Abushahab means that the feedback by El Haris Idris “regrettably look like nothing greater than an try to divert consideration from the battle and the dire humanitarian scenario brought on by the continuing combating”.

The letter stresses: “All allegations of the UAE’s involvement in any type of aggression or destabilisation in Sudan, or its provision of any navy, logistical, monetary or political assist to any faction in Sudan, are spurious, unfounded, and lack any credible proof to assist them.”

Voicing remorse on the failure to achieve a ceasefire or negotiates answer in Sudan, Abushahab provides: “The UAE can also be profoundly involved in regards to the dissemination of disinformation and false narratives, which undermine any efforts geared toward fostering a constructive dialogue that might finally pave the way in which for enduring peace.”
