The Labour Get together has refuted allegations of corruption and misuse of authority in opposition to its Nationwide Chairman, Barrister Julius Abure.
On Monday, the nationwide treasurer, Oluchi Opara accused Abure of embezzling N3 billion get together funds.
In a press release signed by Nationwide Publicity Secretary Obiora Ifoh, the get together dismissed Opara’s claims as baseless, asserting they’re fueled by exterior influences.
The assertion emphasised the shortage of embezzlement allegations from different committee members and highlighted the Nationwide Chairman’s proactive efforts within the 2023 elections.
The assertion reads partly: “Aside from the Nationwide Treasurer whose tenure is about to finish in few weeks time, and who has served for 8 years as Nationwide Treasurer and not using a single file of get together accounts, no different member of the nationwide working committee has raised any problem of embezzlement in opposition to out Nationwide Chairman who made a pledge on assumption that the get together must be revamped.
