Afrigather Actor Kingsley Ben-Adir has revealed how he ready for his position as reggae legend Bob Marley within the upcoming movie ‘Bob Marley: One Love’.
The British actor was on the set of ‘Barbie’ when he obtained the information in February 2022 that he could be portraying the Jamaican legend.
“I bought the job as I used to be beginning ‘Barbie’ and I felt that there was a lot to study, a lot to do. There have been so many issues that I did not know,” says Ben-Adir. “I did not play the guitar. Jamaican Patois was new and the whole lot was new. And I used to be like, ‘I am on ‘Barbie’ for 3 and a half, 4 months. I want to begin working.'”
The movie was directed by American director Reinaldo Marcus Inexperienced and charts Marley’s rise to fame within the mid-Seventies up till his demise in 1981.
Inexperienced says it was “unimaginable to see [Ben-Adir] undergo that transformative course of” because the actor took on the position.
” I do know it wasn’t straightforward to tackle the icon, however he was relentless in looking for the person, the humanity and who Bob was,” says Inexperienced. “It was form of superb to see him undergo that course of bodily, emotionally.”
The movie shall be launched in cinemas on February 14.
