Jan. 4 (UPI) — Russian President Vladimir Putin has provided citizenship to foreigners who volunteer to battle in Russia’s battle in Ukraine, based on the state-run Tass Information Company.

The document offers a course of for citizenship purposes for “overseas residents who’ve concluded a contract for navy service within the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation or navy formations throughout the interval of a particular navy operation or navy service within the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation or navy formations.”

Candidates should demonstrated that they signed up for at least one year of service.
