The police in Zamfara have rescued a 52-year-old safety guard, Hassan Abdullahi, who was kidnapped on December 29 in Gusau.
Based on the police spokesperson, Yazid Abubakar, the person was kidnapped round 1.30am on Friday when gunmen raided a home he was working at in Sabon Garin Damba.
In an announcement on Friday, Abubakar stated that the armed males had invaded the home of 1 Alhaji Kabiru Umar, a workers of Zamfara Faculty of Artwork and Science in Gusau, the place they went away with the safety guard.
“On receiving the data, the Divisional Police Officer of Damba Division mobilised a staff of detectives for a search and rescue operation.
“They intercepted the abductors on the outskirts of Sabon Garin Damba and on sighting the police, the hoodlums fired the sufferer on his proper hand and took to their heels with attainable gunshot wounds
“The sufferer was rescued and brought to Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau, and is responding to therapy,” the command spokesman added.
He stated the Commissioner of Police, Mr Muhammad Shehu, has recommended residents for alerting the police on time concerning the incident.
Shehu additionally recommended the police operatives for his or her well timed intervention, which led to the rapid rescue of the kidnapped sufferer.
He pledged that the command would proceed to pursue the warfare towards bandits and different felony parts within the state till normalcy was restored.
