A big update is coming to 2XKO tomorrow, including the addition of a Learning Hub and new ranked rewards.

Patch 1.0.3 is going live on November 18th, including champion balancing, bug fixes, and additional content for new players. Online play will be down from 9 am to 1 pm PST as the update is implemented.

Riot’s 2v2 fighting game has been a huge hit with competitive players, with top FGC pros switching over to the new scene and competing in early tournaments around the world. While the esports scene is growing, casual players have found the game a bit complicated and intimidating.

Developers have heard the feedback over the last few months and are looking for ways to bridge the gap between casual and competitive players. This includes the addition of the upcoming Learning Hub.

What is the Learning Hub in 2XKO?

A Learning Hub will be added on November 18th, which will appear under the Play tab as a new game mode: Bot Beatdown.

In Bot Beatdown, players fight a series of four bot matches that increase in difficulty as you survive, earning champion chroma rewards along the way. After completing these matches, you can play against bots on Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced difficulty.

The Learning Hub also includes existing game modes to put beginner-friendly experiences in one place. This includes Tutorial, Combo Trials, Advanced Lessons and Training.

Ranked Rewards in 2XKO

If you are already past the point of needing bot battles, you may be more interested in 2XKO’s Season 0 ranked rewards. Players will get a sticker and title to represent the highest rank they achieved in Season 0:

  • Iron
  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Emerald
  • Diamond
  • Master
  • Grand Master
  • Challenge (Top 100 players in each region)

Players that reach Diamond or higher will also earn an avatar item that can be used in the lobby. It appears to be a black and neon green hoodie going by the “Sleek Chevron Hoodie” in Riot’s official patch notes.

Champion Balance Notes For 2XKO Patch 1.0.3

On top of a lot of bug fixes and quality of life updates, there are a handful of champions that have seen some big changes in a continued attempt to keep the roster balanced.

Ekko was overperforming in the meta, so we’re taking some steps to tone him down,” devs wrote. “While he’s a strong Point champion, he is also an incredibly strong Assist. We’re not opposed to champions being very good at two things, but Ekko was overperforming on both counts.

“To remedy this, we’re making nerfs to bring his Assists more in-line with other champions, as well as making Timewinder less oppressive in neutral.”

Blitzcrank is getting better steam generation and better defensive options against projectiles, making Rocket Punch stronger. High-level Ahri players will be disappointed to see her Spirit Rush combo was reduced in length. Teemo’s neutral play has been toned down, making it a bit easier for other players to interact with him. Yasuo is also seeing a damage reduction, especially focused on his ‘H’ followups while in Calm stance and other offensive nerfs.

A lot of players have wondered why Yasuo was ‘hit harder’ than Teemo, who has been pretty oppressive so far. Other players are concerned about the small roster as the game approaches Season 1.
