Utica, N.Y., officer shot and killed pellet gun-toting teen

June 29 (UPI) — A 13-year-old Asian teen trying to flee police on foot aimed a reproduction Glock 17 pistol at a police officer in Utica, N.Y., who shot and killed him Friday night time.

The officers have been conducting an investigation and at 10:18 p.m. EDT Friday tried to cease and query two juvenile males strolling on a avenue, Utica Police officers stated in a news release. Utica is between Syracuse and Albany.

The teenager carrying a pellet gun made to resemble a Glock 17 pistol pointed the gun on the law enforcement officials whereas scuffling with the law enforcement officials.

An officer fired one shot into the teenager’s chest.

The teenager was taken to Wynn Hospital, the place he died from his wound.

Police say they recovered a pellet gun made to seem like a Glock 17 pistol with a removable journal and can present a photograph of the gun.

The teenager is identified as Nyah Mway, who was born in Myanmar and moved to Utica together with his household about 9 years in the past.
