Cops cease NY father from allegedly drowning youngsters in Conn.

June 22 (UPI) — Two youngsters are in intensive care after police in West Haven, Conn., stopped their father from allegedly drowning them early Saturday.

A West Haven police officer seen a Nissan SUV was parked on an area seashore at about 2:30 a.m. EDT and heard children screaming from the water.

The officer adopted the sounds of screaming and found a person within the water with two babies, West Haven Police public data officer Sgt. Patrick Buturla told local media.

The officer went into the water as the person and youngsters drifted farther from shore.

The person yelled on the officer to remain away whereas the kids continued screaming

Different responding officers and members of the West Shore Fireplace Division additionally entered the water on foot and utilizing a West Shore Fireplace vessel.

The officer who first found the SUV realized the person, later recognized as Romney Desonvril, 41, Queens, N.Y., was attempting to drown the children, Buturla mentioned.

A number of responding officers swam about 100 yards from shore whereas others approached within the fireplace division’s boat to rescue the kids and apprehend Desonvril.

Desonvril was arrested and is in custody whereas awaiting an arraignment listening to on pending prices.
