US imposes sanctions on Zimbabwe’s president, first girl and 9 prime officers

The U.S. on Monday imposed sanctions on Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the First Girl Auxillia Mnangagwa, the Vice President Constantino Chiwenga and eight different senior officers.

America’ Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control accuses the 11 people and three entities of being concerned in corruption or critical human rights abuse.

Mnangagwa is accused of defending gold and diamond smugglers who function in Zimbabwe, directing authorities officers to facilitate the sale of gold and diamonds in illicit markets and taking bribes in change for his companies, amongst different offenses.

The U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated they have been being designated below the World Magnitsky sanctions program.
