Govt Commences Cost Of N13.4b Gratuity Backlog – Life-style Nigeria

Zamfara State Authorities has begun the cost of the backlog of N13.4 billion in gratuities to retired civil servants within the state.

Recall that the state authorities had established a committee to authenticate retired civil servants’ information to repay the gratuity debt amassed from 2011 to this point.

In a press release issued on Saturday, the spokesman of the Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, revealed that the retirees who’ve been owed gratuities since 2011 lastly began receiving their funds.

The assertion added that the backlog of gratuities amassed through the years is now being cleared and cost commenced on Thursday.

“The State authorities has taken a major step in direction of addressing the excellent debt of gratuity owed to retirees, which contains demise gratuities, retirement gratuities, and contract gratuities”, the assertion added.

“Governor Dauda Lawal arrange a committee to validate and authenticate retiree information to settle the debt of gratuities that has amassed since 2011″

“After validating the information of retired civil servants, the federal government found that the entire quantity owed from state and native governments is 13.4 billion Naira”

“The committee has already gone far with the authentication of information submitted by native authorities and state pension fee and bodily verification of beneficiaries”
