The federal government of Ecuador has allotted 500 MW of renewable power capability in its newest procurement train. The chosen builders secured 25-year energy buy agreements (PPAs).

Ecuador’s Ministry of Power and Mines (MEM) has allotted 120 MW of PV capability in its newest 500 MW renewable energy auction, which was launched in December 2021. It initially preselected 345.3 MW of PV initiatives and accepted six bids for photo voltaic crops ranging in measurement from 3 MW to 50 MW.
For photo voltaic, 5 of the six collaborating builders proposed 60 MW initiatives. Intiyana submitted a suggestion of $0.049877/kWh and AMBI offered a bid of $0.049876/kWh. Imbabura Photo voltaic, Ñañapura, and Dominion provided $0.0535977/kWh, $0.05961/kWh, $0.066988/kWh, respectively. Esco As submitted a 60 MW photo voltaic mission to promote energy at $0.064985/kWh.
Solely two of those initiatives have been finally chosen within the procurement train – Dominion’s plant for $0.066988/kWh and Esco’s mission provide of $0.064985/kWh.
The MEM additionally allotted 150 MW of hydropower capability, 200 MW of put in wind energy, and 30 MW of biomass capability. It stated it’ll award 25-year PPAs to the wind and photo voltaic initiatives and 30-year offers to the hydroelectric amenities.
