WHO condemns abduction of colleague in Mali

Bamako – World Well being Group (WHO) deplores the kidnapping of Dr Mahamadou Diawara, who was taken by unidentified assailants from his automotive on 23 January 2023 within the city of Menaka in northern Mali.

Dr Diawara, deployed by WHO in Menaka because the starting of 2020, has been main efforts to offer medical care to communities which are typically distant and face insecurity dangers and violence. 

The motive force of his automotive was additionally attacked, however the assailants left him behind and he’s recovering from the incident.

The motive for the kidnapping is unclear.
